Blue Hose Prep to Host Wofford on Sunday Afternoon

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's tennis team will host the Wofford Terriers on Sunday, March 2, at 2:00 p.m. in Clinton, South Carolina.

SCOUTING THE TERRIERS
- Wofford has taken a 6-1 record so far this season with wins over College of Charleston, Emmanuel, Converse, Coastal Carolina, North Greenville, and Gardner-Webb.
- Senior Catherine Blouin leads the team with a 7-0 singles record with six of her wins coming from the number four slot.
- Seniors Breda Brennan and Emma Sorensen lead the Terriers in doubles, competing at each other's sides in all seven of their matches where they have taken a 5-2 mark at the number two doubles position.
- The Terriers are under the direction of 13th year head coach Krissy Hall.

A LOOK AT THE BLUE HOSE
- Presbyterian has taken a 4-11 record so far this season, picking up their wins over Lander, Queens, Alabama A&M, and Converse.
- Senior Valentina De Sousa leads the team with an 8-6 singles record, picking up six wins at the number three position, one at the number two slot, and one while competing at the fourth position.
- Junior McKenzie Davis leads the team in doubles with a 8-5 mark, while seeing a 6-1 record while paired with freshman Mary Ellen Longmire, the duo is currently on a six match win streak.
- The Blue Hose are led by sixth year head coach Joel Roberts.

BIG SOUTH DAVIS
Senior McKenzie Davis was named Big South Player of the Week for the second consecutive week after some dominant performances in both doubles and singles matches. She earned her first title on Feb. 19 after the team completed a 7-0 sweep over Alabama A&M. Davis played a key role in this match, securing the victory at the number three doubles position while teamed up with Mary Ellen Longmire. The duo took down Alabama A&M's Naomi Blanks and Ntokozo Zungu 6-1. Davis followed up with a straight-set singles win at the number two slot, defeating the Bulldogs' Alicia Owegi 6-0, 6-1. The next day the Blue Hose fell to Chattanooga in a close battle where Davis posted another doubles victory alongside Longmire. They took down Chattanooga's Margaret Manolache and Emma Pedretti at the number three slot 6-3. Once again competing at the number two singles position, Davis completed the perfect week by defeating the Mocs' Madlena Orlova 6-3, 6-0.
 
The following week, Davis proved her consistency, competing at the number two singles position throughout the weekend, she posted two straight-set victories, defeating Davidson's Savanna Kollock 6-3, 6-3 before blanking Converse's Lais Martins 6-0, 6-0. Her dominant play earned her the Big South award on Feb. 26.

SPRING SLATE
Sixth year head coach Joel Roberts and the Blue Hose women's tennis team will compete in 22 matches throughout the spring, seven of which will be played here in Clinton at the Templeton Tennis Courts. In league play, PC will host UNC Asheville on April 2 and Radford on April 12.
