Five Transfers Join Presbyterian Men’s Soccer Roster

CLINTON, S.C. -  The Presbyterian College men's soccer program and head coach Nick Finotti announced the addition of five transfers to the 2025 roster: Saed Anabtawi, transfer from the University of Dayton, Tim Baerwalde, a transfer from UNCG, Jonathan Beckert, a transfer from UNCG, Max Falconer, a transfer from Missouri State, and Niaza Tamini, a transfer from the University of the District of Columbia.
  
SAED ANABTAWI
Goalkeeper – Transfer from University of Dayton – Fort Wayne, Indiana

Transferred to Presbyterian from the University of Dayton.  He transferred to Dayton after playing his freshman season at the  University of Indiana. He was a United Soccer Coaches Association All-American as a junior and a senior at Canterbury High School in Indiana. In 2023, he was Indiana High School Player of the Year. He was a three-time All-State and All-Region selection and a four-time All-District honoree, who finished his high school career with 37 shutouts and 294 saves. He played club soccer for Fort Wayne FC.  
 
TIM BAERWALDE
Goalkeeper – Transfer from UNCG – Frankfurt, Germany
Transferred to Presbyterian from UNCG. At UNCG, he played a role in helping UNCG earn a share of the 2024 Southern Conference regular season championship. On October 15, 2024, he was named SoCon Defense Player of the Week after logging a three saves shutout in his UNCG debut against Furman on October 12. He posted his second shutout of the season with saves at VMI on October 26. In 2024, he played and started five matches while tallying 13 saves while facing 50 shots. Baerwalde transferred to UNCG from Converse, where he started 19 games while posting a 9-4-4 record in goal with 45 saves for a .726 save percentage in 2023. While at Converse, he was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team. He began his collegiate career at USC Sumter where he was a team captain and the team's MVP. Before his college career, he competed for Rot Weiß Erfurt, JFL Fußballinternat, and FC an der Fahner Höhe. He was a team captain with JFL Fußballinternat.
 
JONATHAN BECKERT
Midfielder/Defender – Transfer from UNCG – Braunschweig, Germany
Transferred to Presbyterian from UNCG. Before UNCG, he competed from 2021-24 with Werder Bremen in the U17/19 Bundesliga. He played soccer for Hannover 96 from 2018-21 and Eintracht Braunschweig from 2016-18. He won a national Youth Games gold medal. 
 
MAX FALCONER
Midfielder – Transfer from Missouri State – Wellington, New Zealand
Transferred to Presbyterian from Missouri State. He was a member of the Missouri Valley Conference's Honor Roll during his time at Missouri State. Before joining the Missouri State roster, he played for the Miramar Rangers AFC where he helped the team to its most wins in school history (75). In his last season with the Rangers AFC, he started 22 games, scoring seven goals and dishing out 13 assists. He was named a finalist for several prestigious awards for his play, including the College Sport Wellington Football Player of the Year and the Wellington College Sportsman of the Year.
 
NIAZA TAMINI
Defender – Transfer from University of the District of Columbia – Silver Spring, Maryland
Transferred to Presbyterian from the University of the District of Columbia. In his two seasons playing for the University of District of Columbia, he saw action in 34 games with 24 starts while recording six shots and helping the Firebirds collect six shutouts. In the 2024 season, he saw action in 15 games with six starts while recording three shots and playing a role in helping the Firebirds post three shutouts in 2024. Before his college career, he earned Second Team All-Metro honors at Montgomery Blair High School in Maryland. Played club soccer for the Potomac Soccer Club.
