FARMVILLE, Va. – The Presbyterian College women's tennis team (5-14, Big South: 1-1) earned a decisive 5-2 victory over Longwood (6-9, Big South: 0-4) on Friday morning, securing the doubles point before claiming four singles wins.

DOUBLES
The Blue Hose set the tone early, taking two of the three doubles matches to claim the opening point.
Madison Dennett and
Elle Sceney got things started with a 6-3 victory over Longwood's Phoebe Mitchell and Oriana Izarra at the number three position.
McKenzie Davis and
Mary Ellen Longmire followed, defeating LWU's Alexandra Magia and Feline van Eijkelenburg 6-3 on court two. Though the Lancers managed to win at the number one doubles spot, Presbyterian had already locked up the doubles point.

SINGLES
Longwood came out strong in singles play, briefly taking a 2-1 lead with wins on courts five and six. However, the Blue Hose quickly responded. Dennett evened the score with a straight-set 6-4, 6-3 win over LWU's Mitchell at number four singles slot.
Claudia Sanchez put PC back in front, battling to a 7-5, 6-3 victory over Longwood's Van Eijkelenburg on court two.

With the Blue Hose just one point away from victory,
McKenzie Davis delivered a hard-fought 7-6 (7-2), 6-2 win over the Lancer's Karina Rizvanova at the number one position.
Valentina De Sousa then ended the match, edging out her opponent, Izarra, 6-3, 7-6 (7-5) at number three singles to secure the 5-2 victory for Presbyterian.
