CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's tennis team (5-15, Big South: 1-2) dropped a 6-1 decision to UNC Asheville (12-5, Big South: 4-0) on Wednesday afternoon at the Templeton Tennis Courts.
Claudia Sanchez secured the lone victory for the Blue Hose in singles play.

DOUBLES
UNC Asheville took the early advantage by securing the doubles point with wins at the number two and three positions. The top doubles match featuring Sanchez and
Valentina De Sousa against AVL's Angelina Joy Hug and Elizabeth Tindera went unfinished with Asheville leading 5-2.

SINGLES
The Bulldogs extended their lead with straight-set victories at the number four and five spots before their win at number three gave them a 4-0 advantage. Sanchez put the Blue Hose on the board with a strong performance at the number two position, defeating the Bulldog's Hug 6-0, 7-5. UNC Asheville closed out the match with two more wins, one at the top singles slot, and a hard-fought battle from
Mary Ellen Longmire at number six, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4.
