CLINTON, S.C. – Utilizing the mercy rule for the third time in four games as they rolled past Western Carolina in Game 1, the Presbyterian College softball team shared victories with the Catamounts on Tuesday afternoon. PC slammed WCU in the first bout 9-1, unable to pull away the sweep in the nightcap (5-3).
Carried by senior
Kendall Owens' four hits and four RBI in the doubleheader, the Blue Hose dealt Western the same fate as their two most recent wins (Rhode Island & N.C. A&T): leading by at least eight after five innings to close the game then and there.
Emma Yanes guided her first home run of 2025 to open the scoring in the first contest, and the rest of the lineup followed suit by scoring five runs in the bottom of the 3
rd.
The Scotsmen secured their eighth home W of the campaign by getting a dose of revenge on WCU from the previous weekend. Owens, Yanes, and junior
Blair Darby made up six of the squad's eight hits in Game 1.

GAME ONE – PC def. WESTERN CAROLINA, 9-1 (5 Innings)

- In that same inning, Owens put the cherry on top with an RBI-double (the fourth run that she was responsible for, either by her bat or her feet).
- Duncan's 15

GAME TWO – WESTERN CAROLINA def. PC, 5-3
- WCU rebounded from the Game 1 beating by calculating 12 hits to end on a split, leading 5-0 before the Blue Hose found their first score of the game.
- Yet another Owens RBI in the 4

- Alas, a fielder's choice forced the last out with two runners left stranded. WCU's Amanda Fulton earned the victory in the circle, throwing all seven innings.
