Presbyterian Inks Talented Prep Guard JD Bowden

CLINTON, S.C. – Presbyterian Blue Hose head men's basketball coach Quinton Ferrell announced the signing of JD Bowden, a 6-foot-1 guard from the Ambassador Christian School in Charlotte, North Carolina.

"We are very excited about the addition of JD Bowden," Ferrell said. "JD is someone we have recruited for a long time, and he plays the point guard position at a high level. He has tremendous vision as a passer and is great at finding his teammates. JD has the ability to score the basketball as well from three levels. He e is an athletic guard with very good speed and quickness. We are extremely excited to have JD and his entire family as members of our Blue Hose family!"

This past season, Bowden was the SPAA Conference Player of the Year after averaging 16.1 points, 6.5 assists, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game. As a sophomore, he helped United Faith Christian Academy win the NCISAA State Championship. Bowden was a two-time NCISAA First Team All-State selection as well as a two-time All-Conference honoree. He scored over 1,000 points and dished out over 500 assists in his high school career. Bowden played AAU for Team United Nike EYBL.

"We're proud of JD and excited for him and his family," said Ambassador Christian Head Coach Scott Taylor. "He's worked tremendously hard, and his family has been super supportive and encouraging to him over these last several years as he's pursued his dream of playing Division 1 basketball. JD is a winner. A gifted scorer, yet an extremely composed and consistent floor leader. He'll make any team and program better the first day he walks in the door, just as he did for us here at Ambassador. We feel fortunate to have been a part of his journey and can't wait to cheer for him at PC."
