SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The sequel to an earlier game in Clinton that featured a walk-off victory for the Presbyterian College softball team, the Blue Hose will now face Wofford on the road for the return game tomorrow at 6:00 PM.
Originally scheduled for mid-February but postponed due to weather, PC will visit Wofford's facility (Hope Field) for the very first time. The Terriers first fielded a softball program in 2024, having played Presby twice and suffering the same walk-off fate in both of those meetings.
Head coach
David Williams' gang will look to make it 3-0 against their in-state foe, winning the first two games in the series thanks to Spartanburg native
Kasey Wolfe's heroics. Defense has been the central theme of this blossoming rivalry, as PC's two wins over the Terriers came by final scores of 1-0 and 2-1.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- Wofford has fared well since taking that gut-wrenching loss to the Blue Hose back on March 19, going 7-5 since that moment and coming off of a weekend sweep against Southern Conference opponent Mercer.
- Games two and three in that set were decided by one run each. The Terriers stunned the Bears twice by scoring a combined seven runs in the 7
th inning of those last two encounters.
- Wofford was completely scoreless entering the final inning in the last two games against Mercer, reviving at the perfect time to make 19 of their 23 season wins on their home base.
- Less than a week ago, head coach Chelsea Butler's crew posted an impressive defensive effort at sixth-ranked South Carolina, shutting out the Gamecocks from innings 2-7 in a narrow defeat. They've held the opponent to three runs or less 25 times in their second season of existence.
LAST TIME OUT
- Presbyterian has entered a bit of a mid-season funk after taking the wrong end of a sweep at Longwood, now sitting right at .500 with three Big South series remaining (12 regular season games left).
- Starting off the league schedule with wins in two out of three over conference juggernaut USC Upstate, the Wofford walk-off was part of a four-game winning streak by the Scotsmen only to come up short in six of the last seven since.
- Tuesday will be the close of a nine-game road swing for coach Williams and co., their 12
th game of the calendar against a fellow South Carolina institution.
- Junior pitcher
Peyton Duncan shut the Terriers down after conceding a 1
st-inning run during the initial meeting, striking out nine batters in six frames and letting Wolfe pick up the save.
- Both of Presby's RBI in the Wofford win were off the bat of Wolfe in the 5
th and 7
th, bringing home freshman shortstop
Baxleigh Arnette for the dagger. That was one of what is now six one-run victories by the Blue Hose this year.
