PC Wraps Up 2025 Slate at the Big South Tournament

HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Presbyterian College baseball team (17-35) concluded its 2025 campaign on Wednesday, May 21, at the Big South Championship held at Truist Point. The Blue Hose dropped both games of the day, falling 12-2 to Charleston Southern (29-20) before closing the season with a 9-2 defeat to Radford (28-27).
 
HOW IT HAPPENED IN GAME ONE: Charleston Southern 12, Presbyterian 2
  • Presbyterian struck first in the opening frame. Trey Fenderson and Jake Randolph led off with base hits before Amman Dewberry delivered an RBI to bring Fenderson home for an early 1-0 lead.
  • Charleston Southern quickly responded with four runs on six hits in the bottom half of the first and then surged ahead with a five-run second inning, highlighted by a two-run homer from Aidan McAskie, to take a 9-1 advantage.
  • After two scoreless innings, the Buccaneers added two more in the fifth to stretch their lead to 11-1. PC managed to tack on a run in the seventh when Rhogue Wallace ripped an RBI double down the right field line, scoring Jackson Hugus. However, CSU answered with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the inning to make it 12-2, and the score held the rest of the way.
 
NOTABLES – GAME ONE
  • Rhogue Wallace recorded his eighth double of the season with an RBI knock in the seventh inning.
  • Eli Lazio added his eighth double of the year with a shot to center field in the eighth.
 

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME TWO: Radford 9, Presbyterian 2
  • Radford got on the board early with an RBI single in the bottom of the first.
  • Tyrell Williams kept the Highlanders in check in the second, striking out three of the four batters he faced.
  • Radford added a solo home run in the third by James Ward, and after a quiet fourth inning, extended their lead with a three-run fifth to make it 5-0.
  • In the sixth, Brody Linker launched a high-arcing double, and Eli Lazio followed with a double of his own to left field to bring Linker home. Moments later, Andrew Albertus stole second, allowing Lazio to steal home and cut the deficit to 5-2.
  • However, Radford pulled away again with three runs in the sixth and another in the seventh to secure the 9-2 final.
 
NOTABLES – GAME TWO
  • Brody Linker tallied his 10th double of the season in the sixth inning.
  • Eli Lazio picked up his ninth double and an RBI with his sixth-inning shot to left.
  • Amman Dewberry recorded his 11th double of the year with a hit to right-center in the seventh.
