Presbyterian Welcomes Ten Newcomers to the Men’s Cross Country Program

CLINTON, S.C. -  The Presbyterian College Blue Hose men's cross country program has announced the addition of ten talented runners to the 2025 roster. Joining the Blue Hose roster this fall are: Demond Alvin, Eason Bazemore, Garrison Fisher, Sam Gearheart, Henry Hunt, CJ Pijanowski, TJ Rowe, Jude Rutherford, Robert Volk, and Gage Walker.

Demond Alvin
Charlotte, N.C. / East Mecklenburg High School

Earned All-Conference honors in track. Qualified for the Adidas Nationals. Helped East Mecklenburg High School's 4x400m relay team qualify for the North Carolina 4A State Championship.
 
Eason Bazemore
Columbia, S.C. / Ben Lippen School

Earned All-Region honors in track as a senior. Qualified for the state championship meet as a junior and senior in track and cross country as a senior. Played an integral role in helping his high school cross country team win the region championship in 2024.
 
Garrison Fisher
Gastonia, N.C. / Transfer from Lenoir-Rhyne University
 
Ran cross country and track at Lenoir-Rhyne for two years. Ran the 1500m, 5000m, and mile on the Lenoir-Rhyne track team. Ran cross country and track in high school at Gaston Christian.

Sam Gearheart
Clinton, S.C. / Clinton High School

A two-time All-County and a three-time All-Region selection. Helped Clinton High School win six county championships and five region championships.
 
Henry Hunt
Charleston, S.C. / First Baptist School

Earned All-State and All-Region honors. Played an integral role in helping First Baptist win back-to-back region championships.
 
CJ Pijanowski
Missoula, Montana / Florence Carlton High School
 
Team captain who helped his Florence Carlton High School team finish runner-up in the state as a senior. Won the district title in the 1600m and 3200m in 2023 and 2024. Finished eighth in the state in cross country in 2024.
 
TJ Rowe
Batesburg-Leesville, S.C. / Batesburg-Leesville High School

Ran the 1600m and 3200m for two years, competed in the 1600m in the SCHSL 2A Upper State championship in 2021. Threw the Javelin in high school.
  
Jude Rutherford
Mint Hill, N.C. / Metrolina Christian Academy

Named All-State and All-Conference. Captain of Metrolina's basketball team.
 
Robert Volk
Salem, Oregon / McKay High School

Posted a PR of 2:08 in the 800m and 4:31 in the 1500m.
 
Gage Walker
Aiken, S.C. / Transfer from Limestone College

Ran cross country and track as a freshman in the 2024-25 season at Limestone. Ran the 100, 200, 400, and 800 during the track season. All-State and All-Region in track at Silver Bluff High School. Part of a 4x400 relay team that won two straight state championships. Holds the school record in the 300m. Lettered in three sports in high school.
