The Presbyterian College men's and women's cross country teams begin their 2025 season on Friday evening at the Elon Opener in Elon, North Carolina. The women's 4K starts at 8:15 p.m. on Friday, while the men's 6K begins at 8:45 p.m. Both races are scheduled to take place at Elon's Cross Country Course.

About the Meet
The Elon Opener will have the following teams joining the Blue Hose on Friday evening: Campbell, Coastal Carolina, Davidson, East Carolina, Elon, Greensboro College, High Point, Meredith College, Montreat College, North Carolina A&T, Shaw, UNCW, and USC Sumter.

About the Blue Hose

• Presbyterian coach GJ Hudgens is in his eighth season as the Blue Hose head coach.
• Presbyterian's women's team returns five letterwinners while welcoming five newcomers to the 2025 roster.
• The men's team has six returning letterwinners while adding 11 newcomers.  

Notables

• The men's program record for a 6K was set by Preston Meade with a time of 20:13 in 2015. The women's program record for a 4K was also set in 2015 when Ripley Fricano ran a time of 16:25. The two teams have not run those respective distances since 2015.
• Noah Kaufman, David Harner, Jacob Smith, and Jude Rutherford are expected to pace the Blue Hose men's team.
• Isabel Whitman, Abby Donaldson, Lillian Anderson, and Katie Stevenson are expected to lead the Blue Hose women's team.

2025 Slate

• The race in North Carolina is the first of four regular-season races in North Carolina for the Blue Hose in 2025.
• Next, the Blue Hose travel to the coast of North Carolina to run in the UNCW Beach Blast on September 5.
• Then, Presbyterian travels to Brevard, North Carolina, for the Brevard XC Classic on September 19.  
• PC concludes the regular season at the Royals Cross Country Challenge in Charlotte, North Carolina on October 10.
• The Big South Conference Championship is in Farmville, Virginia, on October 31.
