SCOUTING GARDNER-WEBB
- Tomorrow night will be a matchup between two second-year Big South head coaches, as Gardner-Webb is led by Erik Solberg (formerly of Arkansas-Pine Bluff).
- Aside from a 10-2 explosion over South Carolina State on the last day of August, the Runnin' Bulldogs have been outscored 18-3 on the year.
- During the aforementioned blowout against SC State, Gardner-Webb utilized five goals in either half. However, they've only been able to score a single time in the four matches since then.
- Following two 5-0 defeats to Mercer and College of Charleston, G-W was last seen in a losing effort at Longwood where the winning goal was submitted in the 62
nd minute.
LAST TIME OUT
- Against a program who nearly made it to their third consecutive Big South Championship game last fall, the Blue Hose were shut out by Radford at Martin Stadium last Saturday.
- The visitors expanded on a 1-0 halftime lead by scoring two more insurance goals in the second period, keeping PC without a shot-on-goal after a 60-minute storm delay.
SPEES RECORD WATCH
- By hitting the game's lone goal at the 61:20 stamp of a Senior Night triumph against Alabama A&M, three-time All-Big South selection
Sloan Spees needs one more strike to become PC's new Division I-era leader in goals scored.
- She has sent 16 shots to the back of the net in her career, nearly breaking the school record that was set by Sara Simpson back in 2013.
