JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Presbyterian College volleyball team (1-3) dropped a 3-1 decision to North Florida (2-3) on Friday morning at the UNF Invitational. The Blue Hose evened the match with a second-set win before the Ospreys closed it out by scores of 25-17, 20-25, 25-23, 25-16.
Ashley Miller powered the Blue Hose with a career-best 22 kills while hitting at an impressive .302 rate, marking the first 20-plus kill performance of her career.
Julia Yurkovich added 12 kills and 11 digs for her first double-double of the season, and
Courtney Williams tallied 11 kills on a .250 clip with three total blocks. Setter
Anisa Dorlouis guided the attack with a personal best 42 assists and 18 digs, also recording a double-double. Libero
Aubrie Arnold anchored the back row with 22 digs.
Set One | PC 17, UNF 25
After an early 1-1 tie, UNF put together a six-point run and never trailed the rest of the way. The Ospreys hit .375 in the frame with 16 kills to just one error, while PC countered with 15 kills at a .368 mark. Miller and Yurkovich combined for nine kills, five of which were assisted by Dorlouis.
Set Two | PC 25, UNF 20
The Blue Hose answered in the second, opening with a 7-3 spurt and holding the advantage throughout. Williams led the offense with six kills on a .455 percentage. Miller and Yurkovich combined for eight more kills, while Arnold dug 10 balls. Dorlouis steadied the offense with 13 assists in the frame as PC evened the match.
Set Three | PC 23, UNF 25
The third was the tightest of the day, featuring five ties and three lead changes. Miller shouldered the offense with eight kills at a .533 rate, and Williams added three as PC hit .217 in the set. The Blue Hose rallied late to close within one, but UNF's 18-kill effort proved just enough for the 25-23 edge.
Set Four | PC 16, UNF 25
Following a 1-1 tie, the Ospreys surged ahead with a 6-1 run and stayed in front the rest of the way. UNF hit .286 in the frame while holding PC to .086. Miller tallied five kills, Hutchinson chipped in two, and Dorlouis recorded five digs, but the Ospreys closed out the match.
