Blue Hose Close UNF Invitational with Four-Set Win over Harvard

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Presbyterian College volleyball team (2-4) closed out the UNF Invitational on Sunday morning with a four-set victory over Harvard (0-3) inside UNF Arena. The Blue Hose earned the win by scores of 25-17, 19-25, 25-16, 28-26.
 
Junior opposite Courtney Williams recorded a season-high 15 kills and seven blocks while hitting .286. Junior outside hitter Julia Yurkovich added 13 kills on .303 hitting, and Ashley Miller chipped in 10 kills and 11 digs to achieve her third double-double of the season. Setter Anisa Dorlouis notched her fifth double-double in six games with 40 assists, 12 digs, 5 kills, and 2 blocks, while libero Aubrie Arnold led the back row with 19 digs. Presbyterian also matched its season-high with 13.0 team blocks for the second consecutive match.
 
Set One – PC 25, Harvard 17
The Blue Hose jumped out to a quick 12-2 lead, fueled by early kills from Yurkovich, Williams, and Miller, along with smart setting from Dorlouis. Harvard struggled to find a rhythm, committing multiple attack errors while PC's blocking and defensive ability kept them off balance. Miller added a key service ace to extend the lead, and Williams continued to attack strong at the net. Harvard managed to chip away at the deficit late in the set, but Presbyterian closed it out with a timely kill from Yurkovich to take the frame 25-17. The Blue Hose hit .273 in the opening set.
 
Set Two – Harvard 25, PC 19
Harvard came out strong in the second set, jumping to an early lead and forcing PC to play from behind. The Blue Hose responded with back-to-back kills from Miller, closing the gap to 10-13. Not long after, we saw a 15-15 tie, after a mix of service aces and solid attacks from both sides. The back-and-forth set featured multiple lead changes and tight rallies, with both teams trading points and momentum. Despite PC's efforts to pull ahead late, Harvard claimed the final stretch, finishing the set 25-19 to even the match.
 
Set Three – PC 25, Harvard 16
Presbyterian regained control early in the third set, fueled by strong net play from Smith, who finished the third set with five blocks. The set was tightly contested early, with both teams trading points through service errors and quick swings. PC opened a lead with a 6-1 run, highlighted by consistent setting from Dorlouis and kills from Williams, Miller, and Yurkovich. The Blue Hose maintained momentum down the stretch, taking the set 25-16 and move back in front 2-1 in the match.
 
Set Four – PC 28, Harvard 26
The fourth set was a back-and-forth battle, featuring 11 ties and six lead changes. Early on, Miller and Williams provided kills to keep PC in front, while Dorlouis orchestrated the offense with precise setting. Harvard fought back repeatedly, forcing PC to answer with crucial blocks from Smith and Williams. The Blue Hose pulled ahead late with a mix of kills from Miller and Yurkovich, ultimately closing out the match 28-26 in extra points.

- Williams finished with season-highs of 15 kills and seven blocks, all while hitting at a .286 percentage.
- Smith contributed a career-high of nine blocks at the net.
- Dorlouis recorded 40 assists and 12 digs, her fifth double-double through the first six matches of the year.
- Arnold led the back row with 19 digs and added five assists.
- Yurkovich finished the day with 13 kills at .303 hitting. She was also named to the UNF Invitational All-Tournament Team for her efforts this weekend.
