ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Presbyterian College women's soccer team, competing on the road for the first time in three full weeks, fell victim to four goals by Navy in the first 20 minutes of Sunday afternoon's non-conference scuffle which ultimately led to a 5-0 Midshipmen win.

From a statistical standpoint, both sides were fairly even in the shots department (a 13-12 edge by Navy). The difference was in those opening minutes, where the Midshipmen quickly built a large advantage.

PC will have seven days until their next meeting, the final match of the fall before it's all Big South territory from then on. Head coach Matt Smith's bunch will visit College of Charleston next Sunday, scheduled for 1:00 PM.

HOW IT HAPPENED
 
- Navy found themselves up two-nil at the seven-minute mark, with the second of those going down as an own-goal against the Blue Hose.

- The Academy connected on two more goals within a minute and 14 seconds of each other, putting PC at a 4-0 deficit with 70 minutes still to go in regulation.

- Isabel Lasota, Sloan Spees, and Lindsey Malyszek accounted for one shot-on-goal apiece, while 17 different players saw the field from Presbyterian's perspective.

- Sophomore keeper Gracie Moulton stopped five Navy shots as she competed from start to finish, although the Mids would gather a fifth goal with three seconds on the clock.


 
UP NEXT
 
- PC will face College of Charleston in one week's time, a team that does have three losses going into this weekend although each of them are to "Power 4" institutions (South Carolina, Texas, and Wake Forest).

- The Cougars came to Clinton 12 months ago in what turned out to be a 1-0 Charleston win, scoring the only goal of the day at the 12:39 mark.
