GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's tennis team (0-1) suffered a 6-1 loss to Furman (1-1) on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 17) in PC's first dual match of the year at the Mickel Tennis Center.
The Paladins took the doubles point and picked up singles victories on courts two through six to clinch the win.
Furman won the doubles point to begin the match with wins on doubles courts two and three. On the top doubles court, Ladina Bruhin and McKenzie Davis battled with the No. 16 ranked doubles team Sasha Dimitrov and Lillie Murphy to a 4-3 match that went unfinished.
In the first career dual match of her collegiate career, Ladina Bruhin picked up a win on the top singles court over Elle Warren. Bruhin dropped the first set but rallied to take second 6-4 to force a match tiebreaker. Bruhin battled to win the 10-point breaker 10-6 to win the lone point of the match for the Blue Hose.
Roxy Valdes, Grace Katzman, and Luciana Parrilli also made their dual match debuts for Presbyterian.
