CLINTON, S.C. – Presbyterian College freshman Ladina Bruhin has been named Big South Freshman of the Week in honors announced Tuesday (Jan. 20) by the conference.
Bruhin picked up her first collegiate dual match victories for the Blue Hose this past weekend, going 2-0 in singles playing on the top court. On Saturday (Jan. 17) against Furman, she rallied to nab a come-from-behind win over Elle Warren. She dropped the first set but rallied to take the second 6-4 to force a match tiebreaker. Bruhin battled to win the 10-point breaker 10-6 to win the lone point of the match for the Blue Hose.
Bruhin closed out the weekend with another singles victory on the top court against Austin Peay in Greenville on Sunday (Jan. 18). She won a close match against Sophia Baranov 7-5, 7-5 to start the dual match season with an undefeated 2-0 singles record.
