CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College lacrosse team was embedded in a seesaw offensive battle against Austin Peay on Sunday afternoon, ultimately taking a 19-14 setback when the dust cleared.
Deadlocked at seven goals apiece after 30 minutes, the Governors unleashed seven straight scores to firmly take control of the contest. PC recovered to notch six 4
th-quarter goals, although the deficit was simply too wide to make a full rally.
Alyssa Perez and
Emily Currie were responsible for half of the Scotsmen's 14 connections (four and three goals, respectively), although the mid-match spree by APSU was enough to grab the victory.
Sunday was the highest-scoring non-conference match to involve the Blue Hose since March of 2025 when head coach
Eric Clakeley's unit won a 20-19 thriller over Mercyhurst.
Now 0-3 on the young season, PC will finish out their three-game homestand next week when facing first-year Division I program New Haven out of Connecticut.
FINAL SCORE: Austin Peay, 19 – Presbyterian, 14
