CLINTON, S.C. – Presbyterian College freshman Ladina Bruhin nabbed her third Big South Freshman of the Week award, as announced Wednesday (Feb. 25) by the conference.
She is the first player in program history to win the weekly honor three times. She was also named Big South Freshman of the Week on Jan. 20 and Feb. 4.
Bruhin secured a huge singles win last Wednesday (Feb. 18) against Charleston, downing Sia Cariov in a three-set battle on the top court. She split sets with Cariov before coming through in a close third to grab a 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 victory for the Blue Hose. The next day against North Florida, Bruhin battled in another tight three-set match on the top court against Laurie Barendse.
On the season, Bruhin leads the team with a 5-2 singles record (all matches on the top court).
Two former Blue Hose players won the Freshman of the Week award twice: Beth Taylor (2017) and Claudia Sanchez (2022).
