Presbyterian Falls to Davidson on Wednesday

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Presbyterian College women's tennis team (4-5) suffered a 7-0 defeat to Davidson on the road on Wednesday afternoon (Feb. 25) at the Knobloch Tennis Center.

 

Luciana Parrilli and Sofia Rodrigo Hidalgo played their first match of the season on the top doubles court as a pair and came out victorious, picking up a 6-3 victory to open the match. 


However, the Wildcats followed with wins on doubles courts two and three to clinch the doubles point and take a 1-0 lead.


The Wildcats continued to have success in singles, winning five first sets against the Blue Hose. Rodrigo Hidalgo won her first set on court four but dropped a narrow battle in three close sets. 


Ladina Bruhin stayed close on the top court but fell in two very tight sets. The Wildcats picked up straight-set victories the rest of the way to pick up a 7-0 win.


Only five Blue Hose players played in singles.
