CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's tennis team (4-4) will stay on the road for two matches this weekend. The Blue Hose will face Coastal Carolina on Saturday (Feb. 28) at 10:00 a.m. before closing out the weekend at UNC Wilmington on Sunday (March 1) at noon.

BLUE HOSE NOTES
- Presbyterian dropped a road match at Davidson earlier this week on Wednesday (Feb. 25) 7-0.
- The Blue Hose used two new doubles teams for the first time this season against the Wildcats. Ladina Bruhin and Grace Katzman played together on court two, while Roxy Valdes and Mary Ellen Longmire teamed up on court three.
- On Wednesday, Ladina Bruhin earned her third Big South Freshman of the Week honor this season (also Jan. 20 and Feb. 4). She took home the honor after securing a huge singles win last Wednesday (Feb. 18) against Charleston, downing Sia Cariov in a three-set battle on the top court.
- Bruhin is the first player in program history to earn the award three times. Beth Taylor (2017) and Claudia Sanchez (2022) both won the award twice.
- Bruhin leads PC in singles wins this season with five. Grace Katzman and Mary Ellen Longmire are tied for second on the team in singles wins this year with four apiece.
A CLOSER LOOK AT THE BLUE HOSE
The Blue Hose return four from last season to this year's squad. McKenzie Davis, Mary Ellen Longmire, Sofia Rodrigo Hidalgo, and Elle Sceney are all back for Presbyterian. Five newcomers join PC this season as well. Katherine Bauer, Ladina Bruhin, Luciana Parrilli, and Roxy Valdes highlight the Blue Hose freshmen class. Finally, sophomore transfer Grace Katzman comes to the Blue Hose from North Greenville University.
FALL BIG SOUTH DOUBLES CHAMPIONS
McKenzie Davis and Ladina Bruhin won the second-ever edition of the Big South Fall Doubles Championship as the No. 3 seed in October. The pair picked up three wins in the tournament to claim the title, clinching the championship with an 8-4 win in the final over the No. 5 seed Marina Skegro and Carlota Farres of Charleston Southern. The duo earned automatic entry into the ITA Conference Masters Championships in San Diego by way of their victory, where they reached the round of 16.
SPRING SCHEDULE
Head coach Joel Roberts enters his seventh season at the helm of the Blue Hose women's tennis program. PC will play in 22 dual matches this spring, hosting 13 matches in Clinton at the Templeton Center Tennis Courts. In the Big South, the Blue Hose will host Longwood on March 8, Gardner-Webb on March 19, and Charleston Southern on March 25.
SCOUTING THE CHANTICLEERS
- The Chanticleers have won all 14 of the previous meetings with the Blue Hose. The two teams have played each of the past five years.
- Coastal Carolina enters Saturday with a 4-2 record. The Chanticleers defeated Charleston Southern 4-0 on Tuesday.
- Head coach Catherine Hewitt is in her 15th season with Coastal Carolina.
SCOUTING THE SEAHAWKS
- UNC Wilmington is 6-0 all-time against PC. The two have met the past four seasons.
- The Seahawks are 1-1 to begin the year. UNC Wilmington was last in action on Sunday at UNC Asheville, falling 6-1.
- Interim head coach John Ware is in his 26th season with the Seahawk program.
