WILMINGTON, N.C. – The Presbyterian College women's tennis team (4-7) opened March on the road at UNC Wilmington on Sunday (March 1), falling to the Seahawks 5-2 on the UNCW Courts.

The Blue Hose took the doubles point to start the match, but UNC Wilmington picked up singles wins on courts one, two, three, five, and six to secure the win. 

Grace Katzman and Mary Ellen Longmire were victorious on doubles court two to open the match, picking up a 6-2 win. The Seahawks won on the top doubles court before Roxy Valdes and Ladina Bruin battled to a 6-4 victory on doubles court three to clinch the doubles point for PC.

In singles, UNC Wilmington tied the match with a win on the top court. Right after, Luciana Parrilli posted a straight-set on court four to put the Blue Hose up 2-1 over the Seahawks.

However, the Seahawks grabbed control and finished the match with wins on courts two, three, five, and six to clinch the victory. Sofia Rodrigo Hidalgo and Longmire battled to third sets on courts five and six but came up short in the deciding set in both matches.
