Presbyterian Drops Sunday Finale at High Point

HIGH POINT, N.C. - The Presbyterian College baseball team (4-21, 2-4 Big South) wrapped up the weekend at High Point on Sunday afternoon (March 22), suffering a 9-3 defeat at Williard Stadium.


Matthew Rollison homered twice for the Blue Hose, but High Point garnered nine runs on 13 hits to finish the three-game series with a victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Matthew Rollison left the yard for Presbyterian to lead off the second inning, homering to left field to plate the game's first run.- High Point responded with a home run of its own in the bottom half of the frame, taking the lead on a two-run homer to left.

- The Blue Hose got the run right back in the top of the third, tying the game at two. Bo Moody doubled before scoring on a throwing error by the second baseman.

- The Panthers retook the lead in their next chance to bat, going ahead 3-2 on a sacrifice fly RBI to center field.

- High Point continued to be productive at the plate in the fifth, scoring three more runs on three hits to extend its lead to four.

- Rollison got one run back for PC in the top of the sixth, homering to left field for the second time of the day.

- High Point answered with three more runs in the last three innings to secure the win, finishing the afternoon with a 9-3 victory.

 

 

NOTABLES 
- Matthew Rollison hit his first two home runs of the year, posting his second career multi-homer game. Prior to Sunday afternoon, he had only hit two career long balls, both coming at Winthrop on March 14, 2025. 

- Bo Moody logged his second multi-hit game of the series, going 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored.

- Emory Guilford extended his streak to six games in the third inning with a double to right field.

- James Green walked in the fifth to extend his on-base streak to 11 games for PC.

- Five different pitchers appeared for the Blue Hose. Tristan McGregor got the start, pitching 4.1 innings. Mikey Marroquin threw a scoreless 1.2 innings.
