CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Presbyterian College baseball team (4-22, 2-4 Big South) hit the road on Wednesday afternoon (March 25), suffering a 9-4 defeat to The Citadel at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park.

Jonathan Williams and Nick Smith both homered for the Blue Hose, but three runs in the sixth inning helped the Bulldogs come away with the victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Jonathan Williams got the scoring started for PC in the second inning, connecting on a two-run home run to give the Blue Hose an early 2-0 lead.
- Presbyterian surrendered two runs in the bottom half of the frame, as The Citadel tied the game on a two-run single.
- The Bulldogs took the lead in their next chance to bat, pouring in three runs in the third inning to grab a 5-2 advantage.
- The Blue Hose held the Bulldogs scoreless in the fourth and fifth to keep the deficit at three before Nick Smith got PC right back in it. Smith belted a two-run home run well over the left field fence in the top of the sixth to close the gap to just one.
- However, The Citadel answered right back with a three-run inning in the bottom half of the frame, using three hits to score three more runs. The Bulldogs added one more insurance run in the eighth to hang on for a 9-4 win in Charleston.

- Jonathan Williams blasted his second homer of the season in the second inning.
- Nick Smith homered in the sixth inning for the second time this season and the fourth overall in his career.
- Bo Moody extended his on-base streak to 11 games, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and a walk. He now has nine hits and five doubles in his last four games for the Blue Hose.
- Cam Mallo tallied a career-high three hits, finishing 3-for-3.
- James Green's on-base streak of 11 games came to a close.
- Tucker Meredith made his third start of the season on the mound. Eight different Blue Hose pitchers appeared in the game.Â
