BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Presbyterian College baseball team (5-22, 2-4 Big South) claimed game one of a three-game series at Samford 7-5 on Friday night (March 27) at Joe Lee Griffin Field.

James Green homered and tallied four hits to pace the Blue Hose offense, reaching base in all five of his plate appearances. Nick Smith homered as well to help PC come away with the road win over the Bulldogs.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Tyrell Williams recorded two scoreless innings to start the night before James Green put PC ahead in the top of the third with a solo home run to right field.Â
- Samford responded with a homer of its own in the bottom of the fourth to get on the board and tie the game at one apiece.
- Presbyterian answered right back in the top of the fifth to take the lead. Green's second hit of the day was the first of three straight hits to help the Blue Hose grab a 3-1 advantage over the Bulldogs. Bo Moody and Matthew Rollison tallied RBI base knocks.
- The Bulldogs battled again in the bottom half of the frame to tie the game, trading blows with the Blue Hose with a two-RBI single.
- The PC bats stayed hot in the sixth, plating three runs on two hits to take its biggest lead of the game up 6-3. Caden Mason scored on a wild pitch before Moody came through with a two-RBI base hit to left field.
- Samford got back into it with two runs before Nick Smith homered in the ninth to give PC a massive insurance run.
- JJ Harrell got the save for the Blue Hose in the ninth, as Aidan Taylor and Moody turned a double play to cap off the night with a victory.

NOTABLESÂ
- James Green played his best game in a PC uniform, going 4-for-4 with a walk. He blasted his first home run of the season and scored three runs. His four hits are a season-high.
- Bo Moody stayed hot, recording his third straight multi-hit game. He went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, scoring a run as well. He now leads the team with 10 multi-hit games this season. He also extended his on-base streak to 12 games.
- Nick Smith belted his third home run of the year. He has homered in back-to-back games.
- Tyrell Williams threw 4.1 innings, striking out three. Jeremiah Hampton pitched in relief, tying his career-high with three innings pitched. Robbie Boykin followed Hampton out of the bullpen.
- JJ Harrell pitched a scoreless ninth inning, recording his first career save.
