GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Presbyterian College women's tennis team (6-10, 1-0 Big South) suffered a 4-3 defeat to UNC Greensboro to wrap up the weekend on Sunday afternoon (March 22) on the UNCG Tennis Courts.

The Blue Hose took the doubles point and logged singles wins on the top two courts. However, the Spartans clinched the match with singles victories on courts three through six.

Ladina Bruhin and Roxy Valdes opened the match with a dominant 6-0 victory on doubles court three. UNCG won 6-3 on the top doubles court before Grace Katzman and Mary Ellen Longmire got PC on the board with a 6-3 victory on doubles court two.

The Spartans tied the match, but Roxy Valdes put Presbyterian back in front with a 6-4, 6-4 win on the top court. 

UNCG responded with wins on courts three and five to retake the lead and go ahead 3-2 over PC.

Bruhin came through for the Blue Hose in a tight three-setter to keep Presbyterian alive, winning 7-6 (4), 2-6, 7-5 on court two.

On court four, Sofia Rodrigo Hidalgo battled to force a third set against Ivet Sala-Sanchez, taking the second set 6-4. Rodrigo Hidalgo remained close in the decider, but Sala-Sanchez got the win in the end to clinch a 4-3 victory for the Spartans.

The Blue Hose only had five players available for singles.
