Presbyterian Blue Hose acrobatics & tumbling junior Iveren Asom garnered a National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA) national award when she claimed Honorable Mention Specialist of the Week honors.


Asom is the fourth different Blue Hose to capture a NCATA National Weekly Award in the program's history.

Specialist of the Week is for athletes who make a significant contribution to one event. Asom, a base and tumbler, contributed as a base for all three Pyramid Heats in the Pyramid Event in Presbyterian's home opening meet against Wingate last Sunday.

The Marriottsville, Maryland, native competed in seven heats and the Team Event in the meet. She was a part of the Synchronized Pyramid team that posted a season-high score of 9.80.
