CLINTON, S.C. – Presbyterian College freshman Luciana Parrilli has been named Big South Freshman of the Week in honors announced Wednesday (March 4) by the conference.
Parrilli finished last week with a 2-1 combined singles and doubles record. She made her doubles debut on the top court, taking down Savanna Kollock and Bryson Langford of Davidson 6-3 last Wednesday (Feb. 25) with partner Sofia Rodrigo Hidalgo.
She also logged a singles victory at UNC Wilmington to finish the weekend on Sunday (March 1), defeating Lucia Gomez 6-4, 6-2. On the season, she is tied for second in singles wins on the team with four.
Parrilli is the second Blue Hose player to earn Freshman of the Week honors this season. This is the fourth time this year that a Blue Hose player has taken home the honor (Ladina Bruhin, 3x).
This is the 19th time in program history that a Blue Hose player has been named Big South Freshman of the Week. Parrilli is the 15th player in program history to earn the honor.
