CLINTON, S.C. - The Presbyterian College baseball team (2-12) suffered a narrow 7-5 defeat on Friday night (March 6) at the PC Baseball Complex to Appalachian State.
The Blue Hose scored five unanswered runs after trailing 5-0 after the first two innings. However, the Mountaineers broke the tie with two runs in the top of the ninth, hanging on to win 7-5.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Mountaineers took advantage of two Presbyterian errors in the first inning, grabbing a 2-0 lead to open the game.
- Appalachian State continued to have its way with PC in the second, adding three runs on two hits to go up 5-0 through two innings of play.
- Tyrell Williams entered the game on the mound and shut down the App State offense, throwing 5.2 scoreless innings out of the bullpen while punching out nine.
- The Blue Hose got on the board in the fifth inning, scoring two runs thanks to three straight singles by Andrew Albertus, Mikah Conner, and Cam Mallo.
- Presbyterian kept the momentum going in the sixth, taking advantage of two Mountaineer errors and a leadoff double from Emory Guilford to tie the game at five apiece.
- The game would stay tied until the top of the ninth. The Mountaineers drew a walk with the bases loaded and followed with a single to grab a decisive 7-5 advantage. Presbyterian got two runners aboard in the bottom of the ninth, but Appalachian State escaped with a 7-5 win.

- Bo Moody posted his third multi-hit game of the year, going 2-for-4 at the plate with 2 RBIs.
- Tyrell Williams recorded his longest outing of the season, pitching 5.2 innings of three-hit ball. He set a new career-high with nine strikeouts to lead the Blue Hose on the mound.
- Bauer Burkart got the starting nod on the mound, making his second career PC start.
- Rollison, Guilford, and Mason all recorded doubles for PC.
