Presbyterian Dominates Delaware State on Saturday Night

DOVER, Del. – The Presbyterian College lacrosse program is now 9-0 all-time against non-conference opponent Delaware State, stinging the Hornets by an 18-10 final margin on Saturday night for PC's second victory of the season.

Both wins by head coach Eric Clakeley's squad in 2026 have come by the exact margin of eight points (having also knocked off New Haven 15-7 at Bailey Memorial Stadium).

The offense was working like a well-oiled machine against their neighbors to the north, publishing seven 1st-quarter connections and scoring 16 times after three periods.

Senior Alyssa Perez led the way in the goals department for the Blue Hose with five (all in the opening half), while Emily Currie added three makes and rookie Rose Dennstaedt contributing two.

PC is in the middle of a week-long road swing over Spring Break, as they remain away from home in their next appearance: a Tuesday matchup with Fairleigh Dickinson that is scheduled for 11:00 AM.

NOTABLES

- Perez achieved a new personal-record in the DSU drubbing, beating out her previous career-best by one which occurred earlier this semester versus Austin Peay.

- It's the first time that a PC player scored five times in a single match since then-senior Willow Hammond did it at Furman last April.

- The New Yorker remains Presbyterian's leading goal-scorer through six matches (17), while Currie follows closely behind with 12.

- Delaware State's defense was harassed by the Blue Hose for the majority of the contest, surrendering 30 shots to PC and losing the draw control battle 13-6.

- Coach Clakeley gave the starting goalie job to sophomore Morgan Thompson, who allowed only one score in nearly a full half of work. Presby's largest lead was 10, which happened on five different occasions.
