Bruhin, Valdes, and Longmire Earn All-Conference Honors

CLINTON, S.C. – Three members of the Presbyterian College women's tennis team took home Big South All-Conference honors, as announced Wednesday (April 15) by the conference.

Freshman Ladina Bruhin was named to the All-Conference Singles Second Team. Bruhin and fellow freshman Roxy Valdes earned a place on the All-Conference Doubles Second Team. Finally, Mary Ellen Longmire grabbed a spot on the All-Academic Team.

Bruhin powered the Blue Hose all year in her freshman campaign, leading the team in singles. She finished with nine dual match singles wins with five of those victories coming on the top court. She played all of her dual matches on the top two courts to pace Presbyterian this season.

Bruhin earned several honors during the season as a result of her success on the court. She became the first player in program history to win Big South Freshman of the Week three times (Jan. 20, Feb. 4, Feb. 25). Only two other Blue Hose players (Beth Taylor, 2017 and Claudia Sanchez, 2022) had previously won the weekly award twice.

Not just a singles star, Bruhin and partner Roxy Valdes delivered an outstanding season as a doubles tandem for Presbyterian this year. The duo finished the spring with an 8-6 record. They were 5-1 on court three and ended the season on a hot streak. Bruhin and Valdes won four of their final five matches of the regular season. They were also undefeated in their first five matches of the year.

Just like Bruhin, Valdes has been recognized this season by the Big South. She earned Freshman of the Week honors on March 25.

Sophomore Mary Ellen Longmire delivered both on the court and in the classroom for the Blue Hose this year. She concluded the regular season second on the team in singles wins with eight and enters the postseason on a three-match win streak playing primarily on court six. In doubles, she and partner Grace Katzman have been dominant in 2026, boasting a 9-3 record as a team to lead PC. The duo holds an impressive 8-2 record on court two.

In the classroom, Longmire has consistently shined to start her Presbyterian career. She has been named to the President's List twice for having a perfect 4.0 GPA. She has earned a spot on the Dean's list as well, boasting a cumulative 3.93 GPA.

These are the first postseason All-Conference honors for Bruhin and Valdes. This is the second postseason honor for Longmire. She was named to the All-Conference Doubles Second Team a year ago.
