LEXINGTON, S.C. – Behind two doubles and three singles wins, the Presbyterian Blue Hose (11-9) cruised past the UNC Asheville Bulldogs (11-10), 4-0, in the quarterfinals of the Big South Tournament at the Lexington County Tennis Complex in Lexington, South Carolina, on Thursday afternoon.
DOUBLES
Presbyterian captured the doubles point for the 12th time this season with wins on courts two and three. Presbyterian's doubles team of
Dario Navarro and
Daksh Prasad notched the Blue Hose's first win of the tournament with a 6-4 victory at number two singles. Presbyterian's doubles tandem of
Thomas Anderson and
Eduardo Valentin clinched the doubles point for the Blue Hose with a 7-6 at number three singles.
SINGLES
Presbyterian won three singles matches to claim the overall victory. At number four singles, Presbyterian's Valentin beat UNC Asheville's Harrison Cooper, 6-2, 6-3. Then, Presbyterian's
David Mamalat topped UNC Asheville's Daniel Franco-Key, 6-3, 6-3, at number two singles. Navarro clinched the victory for the Blue Hose with a 6-3, 6-2 win over UNC Asheville's Martin Fuks at number six singles.
