CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's tennis team (7-12, 1-2 Big South) played its final home match of the season on Friday afternoon (April 3) against Norfolk State, emerging victorious by a 4-1 score on the Templeton Center Tennis Courts.

The Blue Hose won the doubles point and clinched the match over the Spartans with singles victories on courts one, two, and six to wrap up the home slate.

Ladina Bruhin and Roxy Valdes started the match strong for PC, taking their doubles match 6-3 on court two. Shortly after, Grace Katzman and Mary Ellen Longmire got Presbyterian on the board, clinching the doubles point with a 6-4 win on court three.

The Blue Hose kept the momentum going in singles, winning four first sets against the Spartans. PC went ahead 2-0 after Norfolk State retired in the second set on court two.

Longmire put the Blue Hose up 3-0 not long after, dominating en route to a 6-2, 6-1 win on court six.

The Spartans got on the board with a straight-set victory on court three.

Valdes finished off the match on the top court for PC, securing a 4-1 win over the Spartans with a 6-2, 6-3 victory.

TEAM NOTES
- The Blue Hose claimed the first ever meeting between the two programs.
- Grace Katzman and Mary Ellen Longmire improve to 9-3 on the year as a doubles team.
- Roxy Valdes picked up her third singles win of the season on the top court.
