GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Presbyterian College softball team's busy start to the month of April continues tomorrow less than an hour down the South Carolina road, visiting Furman for a non-conference doubleheader.
First pitch in Greenville is penned at 4:00, with ESPN+ providing live coverage of both games. PC is smack dab in the middle of a 10-day period where they will play seven times.
Separated by only 50 miles, Presby and the Paladins are no strangers to one another as they have played in 15 of the last 19 seasons.
PC hosted Furman last March and split a midweek twinbill, beating the Dins in the second round by an 8-1 differential. Then-freshman
Audrey Burton notched her first three-hit performance on that night.
In December, the Blue Hose hired former Furman head coach Stacey Johnson-Whitfield to the title of Associate Head Coach. She won 81 games in four seasons as the Paladins' director, not including an initial year as their pitching coach.

SCOUTING FURMAN
- Last summer, Furman introduced former Georgia Southern pitching coach Mary Beth Dennison to take over the program. The Dins look to be in a rebuilding phase, beginning the semester at 1-15 and winning just 17 percent of their 36 games so far.
- Furman has faced three separate losing streaks of at least seven games, although they will enter Tuesday's two-parter with their first Southern Conference win of the season in their back pocket.
- Able to salvage a Game 3 victory over UNC Greensboro on the road, true freshman Kristyn Embler was named the SoCon Pitcher of the Week after she earned a complete-game shutout (3-0) versus the Spartans.
- Furman owns a 14-2 mercy-rule win over last year's Big South champion USC Upstate (the fourth game between those teams), but they were also swept by Gardner-Webb on the road and lost a single game to Winthrop 5-0.
LAST TIME OUT
- It was not the overall result that PC was hoping for in last weekend's conference set against Longwood, winning the second bout by an 8-2 difference but dropping the other two games by one run each.
- Saturday's finale saw the Blue Hose surrender the lead in the top of the 6
th, and they would later strand the tying run at second base with an infield pop-up to close the game.
- One major bright spot for PC despite the series loss was the continued excellence of rookie
Hali Duke, who is currently riding a very impressive 18-game hitting streak and was just named the Big South Freshman of the Week.
- Presbyterian holds a 4.54 staff ERA which is the second-lowest of any conference squad.
Avery Robinson is the best of that bunch statistically (.240 opponents' batting average).
- Senior
Peyton Duncan has the potential to hit two personal milestones in tomorrow's double feature, needing just one more victory to reach 30 for her career. Additionally, she requires only five more strikeouts to become the third player in program history with 300 K's.
