BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Presbyterian College baseball team (12-44, 8-16 Big South) finished up the 2026 campaign on Saturday afternoon in a losing effort against Gardner-Webb, outhitting their opponent by one but falling 9-2 on the scoreboard.

Amman Dewberry cranked out his team-leading 11
th home run of the year during the finale, but PC was silent elsewhere on a day where 10 batters were left stranded.
Tucker Meredith was saddled with the loss on 2.2 innings of work, while Webb starter Matt Stuart was the victorious pitcher despite allowing eight hits in five frames.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Blue Hose were able to make significant contact all series long in Boiling Springs, totaling 31 hits over the last three days. Presby stranded at least one runner in each of the first five innings on Saturday and left the bases loaded in the 9
th.
- After a quiet beginning, the Runnin' Bulldogs built a sizable advantage by plating five runs in the bottom of the 3
rd: an RBI double and a trio of run-scoring singles.
- G-W's only homer of the contest would open up the 4
th and make the score 6-0, but Dewberry was able to clear the fence for the 18
th time in the last two seasons when PC had their next offensive turn.
- The home side was able to get three more runs across in the 5
th with an RBI knock and a two-score double. Neither team scored again over the last four innings.
NOTABLES

Braiden Eagen pitched 4.1 solid innings and retired the last eight batters that he faced.

Brooks Chamberlin was sharp himself to record the last two outs of the 8
th, giving PC their sixth strikeout of the affair.

James Green started the game with a ground-rule double, his second extra-base connection in as many days.
Emory Guilford also doubled in the 5
th.
- Seven Blue Hose batters reached at least once in the 2026 closer, although Gardner-Webb was able to draw nine free passes to help compensate for PC's advantage in the hits department.
