KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The Presbyterian College baseball team (10-39, 6-12 Big South) dropped a road midweek test at Tennessee 8-1 on Tuesday night (May 5) at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.
Matthew Rollison homered for the Blue Hose in the top of the first inning, but the Volunteers finished the game with eight unanswered runs to come away with the victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Matthew Rollison smashed a solo home run to begin the game, hitting a long ball well over the left field fence to put the Blue Hose up 1-0.
- Presbyterian held Tennessee scoreless in the first two innings to preserve the lead. Mikey Marrouin Jr. started on the mound, working around a leadoff single to blank the Volunteers.
- Domaine Vann entered the contest in the second inning. Tennessee loaded the bases with two outs, but Vann responded with a big strikeout to get out of the inning.
- The Vols got on the board for the first time in the third, homering twice to grab a 2-1 advantage over PC.
- The Blue Hose kept the deficit at one in the middle innings, blanking the Volunteers in the fourth and fifth frames.
- However, Tennessee struck again in the sixth, tallying four runs on three hits to take a 6-1 lead.
- The Volunteers plated two more runs in the bottom of the eighth to pull away, finishing the evening with an 8-1 win in Knoxville.

- Matthew Rollison homered for the eighth time this season. This is his second homer of the year against an SEC opponent.
- Emory Guilford and Andrew Albertus tallied the other two hits of the evening for PC.
- Guilford recorded his team-leading 13th double of the year.
- Mikey Marroquin Jr. made his first start of the season on the mound and the fourth of his collegiate career. He tossed a scoreless first inning.
- Nine different pitchers appeared on Tuesday night for the Blue Hose.
- Brody Linker, Mason McDaniel, and Tucker Meredith all threw scoreless frames out of the bullpen.
