CLINTON, S.C. – Presbyterian College head women's basketball coach Tiffany Sardin announced the hiring of Corey Harris on Friday (June 12) as an assistant coach for the Blue Hose.
Harris comes to Presbyterian following a successful two-year stint as the head coach of the College of Coastal Georgia, an NAIA program in the Sun Conference. Harris went 30-23 in two seasons leading the Mariners, highlighted by an 18-win season this past year. The Mariners finished with an 18-11 overall record in 2025-26, posting the program's most wins in a season since 2019-20.
"I am excited to have Corey join the Blue Hose family," said Coach Sardin. "Corey's established work ethic and expectation for winning will be a tremendous addition to our team. His passion for the game and development will have an immediate impact on our culture and players in our program."
"I am beyond thankful for the opportunity to help serve the women's basketball program at Presbyterian," said Harris. "Coach Sardin's vision for the program is aligned with where I see the program. I am excited to get started! Go Blue Hose!"
An experienced winner, Harris guided Coastal Georgia to new heights in the 2025-26 season. He led the Mariners to their highest single-season scoring average in program history, averaging 80.8 points per game. The Mariners also excelled from the three-point line, shattering another school record for most made three-pointers in a season (273). The team garnered several postseason honors under Harris' direction in 2025-26. One player was named to the All-Sun Conference First Team, while four players earned a spot on the league's All-Academic Team. The Mariners claimed a total of five Sun Conference Player of the Week honors as well.
Harris was named the interim head coach at Coastal Georgia for the 2024-25 season after serving as an assistant with the men's basketball program for two years. He joined the women's coaching staff in 2023, helping assist with both teams.
As interim head coach, Harris made an immediate impact in 2024-25, leading the Mariners to a 12-win season. His 12 wins are the second most wins that a Coastal Georgia head coach has ever recorded in their first season. In year one, Harris won four of his first five games, leading the Mariners to their best start since the 2017-18 season. One player was named to the All-Sun Second Team while another claimed a spot on the All-Academic Team.
Harris was promoted to head coach of Coastal Georgia following his success in the 2024-25 season. In two total years leading the Mariners, he won 56.6 percent of his games, posting the second-highest winning percentage in program history.
Prior to his coaching tenure at Coastal Georgia, Harris spent three seasons as an assistant coach with the University of Rio Grande men's basketball program, highlighted by a 19-10 record in 2020-21. He helped the Red Storm qualify for the NAIA National Tournament for the first time since 2003. During his three years at Rio Grande, Harris coached an NAIA Player of the Year, two first team All-Conference selections, three second team All-Conference selections, five academic All-Conference selections, and one NAIA All-American.
Harris' coaching experience extends beyond the collegiate level. He served as an assistant coach at Riverdale High School in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. In the 2017-2018 season, the team had a 26-8 record, qualifying for the State Tournament for the second time in school history and the first time since 1987. He helped guide the team to four All-District selections.
