CLINTON, S.C. – Seven Presbyterian College women's tennis players were named 2026 ITA Scholar-Athletes in honors announced this week by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
As a team, the Blue Hose earned the All-Academic Team award for posting a team GPA of 3.20 or higher, recording a 3.63 GPA in the 2025-26 academic year. This is the third consecutive year and the 10th overall time that Presbyterian has earned the team award.
Ladina Bruhin, Sofia Rodrigo Hidalgo, Roxy Valdes, Katherine Bauer, Mary Ellen Longmire, Elle Sceney, and McKenzie Davis were named ITA Scholar Athletes.
This is the first ITA academic award for Bruhin, Rodrigo Hidalgo, Valdes, Bauer, and Sceney. This is the second straight honor for Longmire. Finally, this is the fourth career honor for Davis.
Davis is just the second player in program history to be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete four times, joining Lindsay Krause.
On the court, Bruhin and Valdes led the Blue Hose in the spring, spearheading the charge to earn All-Big South honors. Bruhin and Longmire powered PC in singles, leading the team with nine wins apiece. Bruhin was named to the All-Conference Singles Second Team. Longmire also earned postseason honors, claiming a spot on the league's All-Academic Team. Meanwhile, on the doubles front, Bruhin and Valdes were terrific all year, earning a place on the All-Conference Doubles Second Team.
In the fall, Bruhin and Davis partnered together to win the Big South Doubles Championship. The duo earned automatic entry into the ITA Conference Masters Championships in San Diego by way of their victory, where they reached the round of 16.
To earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: be a varsity letter winner, have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters.
