CLINTON, S.C.   – The Presbyterian Blue Hose (0-1) lost to the Ferrum Panthers, 1-0, in their season opener at Martin Stadium on Thursday night.  
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• In the 21st minute, Ferrum's Oliver McIntosh scored the game's only goal on a shot from about 15 yards out.
• Presbyterian's best scoring chance was in the 41^st minute when Gabriel Leslie headed the ball off a Blue Hose cross just inside the right post, which nearly went in but was stopped by Ferrum's goalkeeper Michael Arzillo.
• In the 68th minute, Presbyterian's Bryce Burdette's header nearly went in, but it was stopped by Ferrum's Arzillo.
• In the closing seconds, Presbyterian's Braden Gritz's nearly tied the score, but his shot from 15 yards out was stopped by Ferrum's Arzillo.

 
NOTABLES

• Presbyterian finished the game with 10 shots, with seven of the shots coming in the second half. Leslie and Aylan Belaid led the Blue Hose with two shots apiece. Burdette, Ali Merghemi, Mo Alahmad, Gui Pedroso and Braden Gritz recorded a shot.
• Presbyterian goalkeeper Saed Anabtawi recorded seven saves in his first career start for the Blue Hose.
