2013: Played in 17 matches, starting five… Scored his first career goal in his collegiate debut and first start against USC Upstate (8/30)… Led all freshmen in shots (15) and shots on goal (seven)… Logged 761 minutes… Started against Elon (9/8), Furman (9/13), Radford (10/27) and Wofford (10/30)… Tallied three shots against Campbell (11/9) and two shots on goal against Longwood (11/2)… Played a season-high 69 minutes against Radford.

High School: Huntsville Times Boys Soccer Player of the Year... Helped the Senators to the second round of the playoffs in 2012 and served as captain... The future Blue Hose was named to the Huntsville Times Elite Boys team and set the Sparkman career scoring record (74 goals in three years) and single-season scoring record (37)... Was also selected to the U.S. National Team Pool Camp in 2011... Served as the captain of the BUSA Academy club team and started for the U18 squad and the Huntsville Futbol Club.

Personal: Ian Mathew Dempsey was born in Huntsville, Ala., on February 3, 1995... Son of Sean and Kathleen Dempsey... Plans to major in biology en route to a Ph. D. in physical therapy... Enjoys fly fishing.
