Biography

2023: Made 14 starts throughout the 2023 season… tallied a 4-5 record with a 5.68 ERA as he allowed 56 runs (52 earned) over 82.1 innings… totaled a team-high 59 strikeouts… went season-high 7.0 innings against Georgetown (Feb. 17) and Radford (May 18)… totaled four league win against High Point, CSU, USC Upstate and Radford… struck out season-high nine against Radford… had six games with 5+ strikeouts… opened the season allowing just one earned run against Georgetown over seven innings… finished fourth in the Big South with 2.19 Walks allowed per nine innings…

2022: Made 15 appearances with 14 starts… went 7-4 with a PC DI single-season record 2.69 ERA as he allowed 36 runs (25 earned) over 83.2 innings pitched… totaled a team-high 67 strikeouts which ranked sixth in the Big South… finished tied for fourth in the league in wins (7) and fifth in ERA (2.69)… added a save with scoreless inning at WCU…  tossed 6.2 scoreless innings with a season-high eight strikeouts en route to his first win of the season against Bellarmine (Mar. 5)… Howard earned starting pitcher of the week honors after tossing seven shutout innings against James Madison… In league play, Howard went 4-3 with a 3.23 era allowing 17 earned runs in 47.1 innings… He tossed his best performance in the league going seven innings against Winthrop allowing one unearned run and striking out four… he earned league wins against Campbell, Asheville, Longwood and Winthrop… earned second-team all-conference honors…

2021: Appeared in 12 games while making 11 starts… went 3-2 with a 4.69 ERA as he allowed 37 runs (29 earned) over 55.2 innings pitched… recorded 32 strikeouts… tossed 5.0 scoreless innings against Charleston Southern (March 27) en route to his first collegiate victory… had three games with five strikeouts against Eastern Kentucky (February 27), UNC Asheville (April 3) and Gardner-Webb (May 8)… allowed one earned run in five innings to pick up the victory over Gardner-Webb (May 8)… matched season-high with 6.0 innings to earn his third victory of the year against High Point (May 15)… allowed one earned run in 2.2 innings in NCAA Regional against Indiana State (June 5)…
