2024: Played in 54 games with 50 starts… batted .268 (52-for-194) with 41 runs scored and 24 RBIs… recorded eight doubles, one triple, and two home runs… drew 17 walks and was hit by five pitches… posted a .341 on-base percentage… stole 16 bases in 18 attempts and led the team in stolen bases… added one sacrifice fly and nine sacrifice bunts…

2023: Appeared in 51 games earning the start in 42 games with 40 of those starts coming in centerfield… totaled 31 hits which included seven doubles… added 16 runs scored and 16 runs driven in… went 9-for-13 on the bases… drew 13 walks… reached base via HBP on six occasions… tallied six multi-hit games including a season-high three against Northwestern (Feb. 25)… had multiple RBIs in three games… had a season-high three steals against Western Michigan (Mar. 7)… scored a pair of runs against Georgia State and Western Michigan…

2022: Played in 50 games with 46 starts in the outfield for the Blue Hose… finished second on the team with a .302 average including eight doubles, one triple and three homers… drove in 22 runs… scored 34 runs… stole a team-high 17 bases which was tied for seventh in the league… tied for second on the team with 58 hits… had 15 multi-hit games including a season-high four against CSU (May 7)… totaled 24 hits in league play… perfect fielding percentage… recorded a 16-game hit streak which was second longest on the team in 2022… hit all three of his homers in league play against Asheville, CSU and GWU… had two steals in PC’s victory at South Carolina… drove in four runs against UNC Asheville (April 1) which was a season-high…

2021: Played in 19 games with 10 starts coming in all three outfield spots… made five starts in right field, four in center field and one in left field… totaled 10 hits including two doubles, two triples and one runs with five runs knocked in… scored 10 runs… added four stolen bases… earned Big South Co-Freshman of the Week honors after going 7-for-10 in three-game series with Winthrop… Winthrop series included seven-for-eight performance in twinbill with two doubles, two triples and a homer with five runs driven in… added two stolen bases in series with Winthrop…

Before PC: During his high school career at Calvary Day School he totaled a .446 batting average which included hitting at a .520 clip during his junior campaign… he compiled a 3.40 ERA during his junior year… he was a 2x all-state honoree, 3x all-region award winner… he also was named to the 1st team all-area three times… earned the region offensive player of the year… also played football during his high school career… 2x 2nd team all-region… all-state honorable mention for football… was a part of the honor society…

Personal: Jay Wetherington was born Savannah, Ga. to Bart and Lisa Wetherington… he chose PC because it felt much like his high school and its close enough to home for comfort but also far enough away to be on my own… he intends to major in engineering with plans to do the dual engineering program… he wants to become a civil engineer…
