Clinton, S.C. (AP) - Forward Lew Hawkins led Presbyterian College to a 93-42 basketball victory against the College of Charleston here Monday night by scoring 20 points despite a broken thumb.
The swift-moving Presbyterian player popped in 8 field goals. The split and wad of adhesive tape on his right hand thumb didn't seem to affect his accuracy.
Presbyterian scored 9 points before Charleston broke the ice, and led all the way.
