ROCK HILL, S.C.- Freshman guard Katlin Moore scored a game-high 14 points, however Presbyterian College fell short of Winthrop in a 66-48 loss to its future Big South Conference rival at the Winthrop Coliseum.
The loss dropped PC to 1-20 on the season. The Eagles improved to 12-6 overall on the year in the win.
All 10 of the Lady Blue Hose scored in the contest.
Moore (Fort Mill, S.C.) led the way, finishing the game by hitting 6-of-16 from the field and 1-of-2 from beyond the arc. She also forced two steals and grabbed three rebounds.
Teammate Taylor Price (Fort Bragg, N.C.) led PC on the boards with seven rebounds, while Sharie Hopkins (Chesapeake, Va.) scored six points and added three boards.
Amy Jones (Warthen, Ga) had three steals in the contest.
Winthrop had four players finish in double figures. Yvonne Van Daalen led the way for the Lady Eagles with a team-high 13 points. Ashley Haugtvedt (12) and Franchesca Davenport (11) each reached double digits in scoring, while Ashley Fann registered the game's only double-double with an 11-point, 10-rebound effort.
Overall, PC shot 29.8 percent in the game (14-of-47), while Winthrop countered by shooting 40.0 percent (24-for-60).
PC now has one week off, but will next remain on the road for its sixth straight game against Big South Conference competition. The Lady Blue Hose will take on Liberty at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26.
