CLINTON, S.C. ? The Presbyterian College women's tennis team dropped a heartbreaking 4-3 loss to North Alabama Friday at the Templeton Tennis Courts.
North Alabama secured the momentum early by winning at both No. 1 and No. 2 doubles to secure the doubles point. PC's Cayla Reece (Gainesville, Ga.) teamed with Megan Davis (Bogart, Ga.) at No. 3 doubles to tally PC's only doubles win of the afternoon. Reece and Davis are now 1-0 on the year as a doubles tandem.
After North Alabama won at No. 1 and 2 singles, the Blue Hose rebounded first with Davis' win over UNA's Mallory Waites at No. 3 singles to take the next three singles matches.
Kari Fuller (Suwanee, Ga.) defeated North Alabama's Louise Klasen to claim a win at No. 4 singles. Fuller won 6-4, 6-2 over Klasen to earn her eighth singles victory of the year.
Virginia Waldron (Mountville, S.C.) easily won over North Alabama's Arrie Moore at No. 5 singles, downing Moore 6-0, 6-0. The singles victory was the second consecutive for Waldron and her fifth of the season.
The Blue Hose return to the courts on Saturday for a match with Big South Conference opponent UNC Asheville at 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 29 at the Templeton Tennis Courts.
