GAINESVILLE, FLA. --The Presbyterian College men's basketball team fell to the Florida Gators 79-38 at the O'Connell Center.  It was the fifth consecutive road game for the Blue Hose, who have been on the road since playing University of North Carolina on Dec. 12.

Jake Troyli led the Blue Hose with 14 points while Chase Holmes had 9 points.  Troyli and Holmes each grabbed five rebounds for PC to lead the team. Kevin Davis also chipped in with five assists.

Florida jumped out to an early 5-0 lead before PC was able to put a point on the board when Holmes hit one of two free throws at the 16:41 mark.  PC struggled from the field in the first half, shooting only 19.2 percent from the field.  Faircloth helped the cause with a big three pointer at 10:21 to cut into the Gators' lead, and make the score 21-6 in favor of the Gators.

Troyli chipped in two of his six points in the first half on a fast break at the 5:58 mark.  After breaking Florida's full court press, Mutakabbir found an open Troyli in the lane for the easy lay in.  The Gators, however, took a 43-14 lead into the locker room at halftime.

PC scored the first basket of the second half after Troyli hit a jumper at the 18:59 mark.  With 13:45 remaining in the game Troyli sank his third field goal of the second half, matching the six points he had in the first 20 minutes of play.

Ryan Hargrave then came alive, scoring five consecutive points for the Blue Hose, including a three pointer at 10:29 to make the score 62-29 in favor of Florida.

PC improved on their field goal shooting in the second half, going 11 for 23 and sinking 47.8 percent of their shots, but fell to Florida by a final score of 79-38.

PC falls to 2-12 on the year with the loss and remains on the road to play conference foe Charleston Southern on Saturday, Jan. 2. Tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
