RADFORD, Va. - Presbyterian College men's
soccer fell to Radford 5-1 on Saturday night as all six goals were scored in
the second half of play. Lewis Makin
scored for the Blue Hose in the 70th minute.
PC falls to
1-6-1 and 0-1 in league play with the defeat.
The Highlanders improve to 4-2-2 overall and 2-0 in the Big South.
There was
nothing between the teams in the first half as PC logged four shots to Radford's
nine.
Out of the
break, Radford broke the deadlock with a goal in the 47 minute off a header
from Luis Grande.
In the 53rd
minute, Radford went 2-0 up when Bernardo Ulmo scored on a penalty kick to
double the advantage for the hosts. The
penalty was the first conceded against the Blue Hose this season.
The
Highlanders were 3-0 up when Camden Brown scored off a feed from Ulmo in the 64th
minute.
PC got on the
scoreboard on 70 minutes when Makin scored off an assist from Thomas
Palma. The goal was Makin's first of the
season.
Just 20
seconds after the restart, Brown scored again to make the line 4-1. In the 73rd minute, the final goal
went across as Ian Aquino scored Radford's fifth goal of the night.
Andrew
Wallingford worked the first 69 minutes before being replaced by William
Redmond. Wallingford allowed three goals
and made six saves while Redmond allowed two goals while not making a save.
PC was outshot
by a 22-13 margin while corner kicks were tied at 7-7.
PC hosts UNC
Asheville on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
