Central Connecticut State scored nine goals in the second half to rally from a three-goal halftime deficit and take the 11-8 win over the Presbyterian College women's lacrosse team this afternoon in Arnold, Md.
PC led 5-2 after the first half but only had three goals in the second as the Blue Devils won their season-opener, outscoring the Blue Hose 9-3 in the final 30 minutes.
The Blue Hose (1-3) were led by Catherine Ellis (Charlotte, N.C.) who scored three goals and had one assist. She was followed by Katie Prisco (West Babylon, N.TY.) with her two goals on the afternoon. Shannon Hartford (Georgetown, Mass.) and Jaime Beamish added two assists each as well.
Susan England recorded 23 saves for the Blue Hose in the loss, while Erin DeLancey had 12 saves in the win for CCSU.
Meaghan McCurry led the Blue Devils with four goals, while Ashley Mara, Mackenzy Ryan and Michele Conway followed with two apiece. Betsy Vendel added three assists.
Presbyterian College hosts High Point Thursday, Mar. 3 at Old Bailey Stadium. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
