CLINTON, S.C. - The Presbyterian men's and women's tennis teams dropped matchups to Radford in Big South Conference matches on Saturday at Templeton Tennis Courts. The men's team fell 5-2, while the women's team dropped the match by a 6-1 margin.
The men's team moves to 2-6 on the spring and 4-6 overall on the year. The women's team moves to 1-6.
The Blue Hose women hit the road on Sunday for a contest at Western Carolina at 1 p.m. The men host Charlotte on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.
WOMEN'S
Patricia Alves (Campinas, Brazil) won a match for the Blue Hose at the fifth flight, taking down Taylor Newman, 4-6, 6-4, 3-2. The sophomore captured her team-leading fifth win of the season with the victory.
PC also got a close contest from Greer Ransom (Athens, Ga.) at No. 3, as the Blue Hose fell to Mia Drobnjak, 7-5, 4-7, 6-2.
Lindsay Krause (Roswell, Ga.) nearly took a set at the sixth flight but came up short to Meg Napolitano, 6-7, 7-6 (7-1).
In other singles action, Paige Oelke (Athens, Ga.) fell at the top flight to Petra Dajevic, 6-1, 6-1, and Cara Caruso (Roswell, Ga.) stumbled at No. 2 to Hannah Crawford, 6-3, 6-2. Caroline deLoach (Columbia, S.C.) saw her hot streak snapped against Gemma Valls at No. 4, 6-4, 6-2.
In doubles, Oelke and Alves fell to Crawford and Napolitano at the top flight, 8-2. Caruso and Krause dropped the third flight match by the same margin to Dajevic and Valls while deLoach and Ransom suffered a setback to Drobnjak and Newman, 8-4.

MEN'S
Grayson Mills (Lilburn, Ga.) and Andrew Brigham (Birmingham, England) each captured matches for the Blue Hose in singles play.
Mills knocked off Igor Ogrizek at No. 2 after taking a tough first set, 7-6, 6-1. At No. 4, Brigham earned his first win of the season with a 7-6, 7-1 victory over Thomas Dehaen.
In doubles play, Nathan Crocker (Clinton, S.C.) and Edward Snead IV (Greenwood, S.C.) battled to a third-flight win against Patrick O'Keefe and Joe Mills, 8-7.
In other action, Rafael Berghaus (Offenbach, Germany) dropped his first-flight match to Nick Sayer, 6-0, 7-6. William O'Connell (Nadi, Fiji) also took a loss at the third flight to Stijn Meulemans, 6-4, 6-3.
Zachary Sprouse (Hilton Head, S.C.) earned a set against O'Keefe but stumbled at No. 6, 7-6, 6-4. Snead also came up short at the fifth flight against Joe Mills, 6-0, 6-2.
At top-flight doubles, Grayson Mills and Berghaus fell to Sayer and Dehaen, 8-4, while Sprouse and O'Connell fell to Meulemans and Ogrizek, 8-4.
