ORLANDO, Fla. - The Presbyterian College men's tennis teams picked up a pair of convincing wins on Monday, downing South Dakota State and Robert Morris by 6-1 margins.

PC moves to 4-7 in the spring.

Rafael Berghaus (Offenbach, Germany), Nathan Crocker (Clinton, S.C.), William O'Connell (Nadi, Fiji), Edward Snead IV (Greenwood, S.C.) and Ryan Walters (Augusta, Ga.) each won two singles matches on Tuesday.

The day began with a victory over Robert Morris as the Blue Hose dropped the doubles point but swept singles play to take the win.

Close matches included Zachary Sprouse (Hilton Head, S.C.) and Crocker pulling out three-set victories. Sprouse took the first set from Tarun Kishan, 6-3, before the Colonial grabbed the second by the same score. Sprouse sealed the result with a 6-3 third-set win.

Crocker dropped the second set to Ricardo Horlle but won the first and third in impressive fashion, 6-0 and 6-1.

Both doubles losses came in tight contests, with PC dropping the second and third flights by 9-8 scores. O'Connell and Berghaus cruised at the top flight, handling Andre Coiro and Igor Neves, 8-1.

In an evening match against South Dakota State, PC fell in only one singles match while taking all three doubles contests and five singles matches.

Crocker found himself in another battle at No. 4 but the Blue Hose held on, knocking off Alejandro Marin, 7-5, 6-3. Berghaus breezed at No. 1, taking down Justin Pyle by a 6-3, 6-1 margin. At No. 2, O'Connell knocked off Dominic Rossetto, 6-2, 6-3.

Snead picked up his second win with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Christian Maki while Walters did the same against Morgan Salo, 6-1, 6-2.

The Blue Hose return to action on Tuesday with a road match at Bethune-Cookman at 2:30 p.m.
