Ninety Six, S.C. – The Presbyterian College men's golf team will travel to The Patriot Golf Club to compete in the 2013 Big South Men's Golf Championship from Sunday, April 21, to Tuesday, April 22.
Competing for the Blue Hose will be sophomore Samuel Jackson (Pelion, S.C.), junior Carter Davis (Spartanburg, S.C.), freshman Davis Parker (Augusta, Ga.), senior Matt Sizemore (Richmond, Va.), and junior Dylan Murray (Westport, Conn.).
Last week, at the Coca-Cola Invitational, Parker and Davis both earned top-ten finishes while the team shot their best Division I total at 869 (295, 286, 288), a mere two strokes off their program best. Parker and Davis both shot collegiate-bests of 213 and 214 respectively, and the team recorded wins against Winthrop, Gardner-Webb, Charleston Southern, High Point, and Longwood.
This will be the first year the Blue Hose are eligible to win the team title, with their best finishes coming in 2008 (899; 306, 300, 293) and last season (900; 311, 294, 295). The best individual performance came from Thomas Todd in 2008 when he would have finished second at 216 (74, 73, 69). Sizemore carded a first round of 65 (-7) in 2010 which stands at the best single round.
The Blue Hose will tee-off from hole number 10 at 8:50 a.m. on Sunday morning and are paired with Longwood.
Liberty University earned the No. 1 seed and will look to win a third-straight team title. The Flames have a current GolfStat national ranking of 39. Coastal Carolina is ranked No. 52 and received the No. 2 seed, ahead of No. 3 seed Winthrop, which is ranked No. 92 in the country. Radford is the No. 4 seed with its ranking of 142, while host Gardner-Webb earns the No. 5 seed with its national ranking of No. 159. Campbell is No. 174 nationally and will be the No. 6 seed in the championship, with Charleston Southern (181) receiving the No. 7 seed. High Point is the No. 8 seed based on its ranking of 185, just ahead of Presbyterian College (187). New Big South member Longwood rounds out the championship field as the No. 10 seed (260).

The championship is free and open to the public. In addition, fans can follow the action online via GolfStat's “Live Scoring” feature.
The 2013 champion will receive the Big South's automatic berth to the NCAA Regionals.
